Your new role:
You´ll be responsible for managing the accounts payable operations for Southern Europe region. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements. The AP Manager will lead a team of AP professionals and collaborate closely with cross functional teams, including finance, procurement, and local operations, to support efficient financial processes across Southern Europe (e.g., Spain, Italy, France, etc.).
Key Responsibilities: Ensure the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports;Ensure the accurate recording and classification of AP transactions in the general ledger;Manage, mentor, and train the AP team to ensure high performance;Develop and implement training programs for new team members and promote continuous improvement initiatives;Maintain positive relationships with key vendors, ensuring the timely resolution of any invoice or payment discrepancies;Work closely with procurement and other internal departments to ensure effective supplier management and resolve any issues relating to invoices, purchase orders, and payments;Manage the relationship with banks and financial institutions for payment processing and ensure the timely reconciliation of bank statements and cash flow management;Support the month-end and year-end close processes and prepare relevant reports for management, highlighting any variances or issues;Ensure that all AP activities comply with local tax and regulatory requirements in Southern European countries;Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs;Provide regular AP reports and key metrics to senior management, highlighting any risks or issues;Assist in managing cash flow by ensuring optimal timing of payments and working with the treasury team on payment planning;Act as a point of contact for Southern European regional finance teams regarding accounts payable issues, inquiries, and process improvements.What you need to be successful: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field;7 to 10 years' experience in similar role;People management experience is required;Proven experience in managing AP operations across multiple countries;Knowledge of accounting principles and local tax regulations (VAT, withholding tax, etc.) in Southern Europe;Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and strong Excel skills;Fluent in English and Spanish both written and verbal (mandatory) and other Southern European language nice to have.What the company can offer you: Hybrid working model;Annual Bonus;Meal Allowance;Health Insurance;The amazing opportunity to be part of the first team in Portugal.Next step:
