The City of Saco is seeking an Advanced Mechanic at our Public Works Department. The Public Works Mechanic performs skilled work in the maintenance and repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered automobiles, construction, snow removal, and other powered and non-powered equipment. Responsible for inspecting, removing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, disassembling, and assembling electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical parts, components, and engines. Properly maintains accountability and control of parts and tools needed to sustain the vehicle/equipment maintenance and other department operations. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $30.18-31.40 depending on experience.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of automotive technical or vocational training preferred. Nine years of experience as an automobile/heavy equipment mechanic is preferred.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Maine Class C Driver's License.Must possess a Maine Class B (Maine Commercial) Driver's License.Must possess a State of Maine (Class A, and/or D) Vehicle Inspection licenses.
