About The Role
About this opportunity The Accounting Specialist / Accountant is a member of the Finance and Admin team of Gleeds Iberica responsible for managing various accounting functions, including the preparation of monthly financial statements, internal financial reports, and collaboration with external partners.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Managing auxiliary and analytical accounting, performing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.Preparing and analysing monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.Developing and maintaining internal reports to support management decision-making, ensuring reports are delivered on time and meet the needs of various stakeholders.Acting as the primary point of contact for the external collaborator handling accounting in Portugal, reviewing their work to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.Conducting regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning.Ensuring strict compliance with financial regulations and assisting with internal and external audits as required.Liaising between head office and local management.Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting operations.Assisting the Finance responsible and Administrative director with other duties within the scope of the role.About You
Who we're looking for: Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Portuguese system.Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.Excellent organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.Excellent problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills.Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.About Us
