ABOUT THE ROLE
ProfessionLX specializes in professional services where we engage our employees to empower them to excel for our customers. We are currently seeking full-time Academic/Education Advisor candidates to join our team in support of the US Air Force in Lajes Field, Azores. This position will provide academic advisement, information and guidance; facilitate distance learning testing; provide advisory services for DANTES testing, and provide WAPS support. Successful candidates will possess at least 3 years' related professional.experience and a baccalaureate degree from an accredited American college or university is required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide information and required forms to prospective applicants of specialized AirForce programs to include (but not necessarily limited to): ELA, AECP, LEAD, SOAR, AFROTC, and OTS. May be asked by ESO to provide preliminary check for accuracy and completion of application package. The contractor may be asked to assist applicants with determination of their grade point average (GPA) requirement according to specific program guidelines. Refers applicants to specific program point of contact for package preparation, completion, and submission.
Advise eligible personnel on all programs available through voluntary off-dutyeducation, the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), Defense Activity forNon-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), officer accession programs and other educational support programs as required by the ESO.
Provide information regarding Air Force Tuition Assistance (TA), VA education benefits as they relate to TA, federal financial assistance programs, local and other scholarship programs in support of Air Force TA. Assists students with completion of all applicable forms/applications. Assist in processing Air Force TA forms via the AFAEMS software program as specified by MAJCOM guidelines.
Monitor and update degree program progression in AFAEMS. Notify students when reevaluations are required.
Refer students to the appropriate academic institution representative for registration and enrollment in courses or programs that pertain to their education goals.
Advise students on DANTES/CLEP/DSST tests that are applicable to their programs of study.
Assist Air Force students in changing education level codes in MILPDS upon review of appropriate documentation.
Conduct follow-up and outreach activities (phone calls, mail-outs, emails, briefings, publicity activities) at the direction of the ESO, to encourage individual students in meeting educational objectives.
Prepare all necessary correspondence and forms and maintains related records and logs required to support all aspects of job tasks. Maintain statistical data as required by the ESO and assists with reports and other administrative tasks as requested.
Maintain a log of all counseling sessions in the AFAEMS system.
Use the Air Force Automated Education Management System (AFAEMS) to maintain individual student records.
Provide briefings on education services programs to Right Start, Informed Decision, and others as needed.
Function as Test Examiner (TE). Provide testing services for active duty and eligible members in accordance with instructions provided in testing manuals, handbooks, examiner guides. Maintains records, receipts, logs, and sign-in sheets according to published TCF guidelines. Maintain AFAEMS records of inventories and test schedules.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding CONTROLLED TEST MATERIALS as defined in current guidance.
Provide support to the TCO/STCO by performing all necessary WAPS pre- and post-testing preparation. Provide WAPS eligibility listing to the appropriate units and schedule appropriate personnel for WAPS testing. Develop/maintain WAPS testing schedules and sign-in sheets as directed by ESO and according to published guidelines. Ensure testing room meets test facility conditions according to published guidelines and identify test facility condition deficiencies to ESO. Prepare and package testing materials to be mailed out as well as retrieve all WAPS-related material from the Post Office to the designated/approved storage location.
