Offer Description:
The Researcher shall be involved in all the tasks of the research project entitled "Dissecting the molecular mechanisms of X-chromosome inactivation using human embryonic stem cells", with the following goals:
Analysis of RNAseq and interpretation of respective results;
Integration of the data with other molecular profiles previously published.
The Researcher should also contribute and support other team's initiatives.
Fellowship duration: The fellowship is for 12 months, starting on January of 2025. The scholarship contract may eventually be renewable, within the term of the project.

Mandatory requirements: Applicants may be national, foreign or stateless candidates holding a Master degree in the field of Biology or similar and complying with the following specific requirements:
Demonstration of competences in Computational Biology or overall large-scale sequencing data analyses;
Proficient in R and Python scripting;
Experience in analysis of transcriptomic data (RNAseq), protein-DNA interactions (ChIPseq), chromatin accessibility (ATACseq) and allelic expression (RNA-Amplicon-Seq);
Experience in participation of research teams or projects.
Candidates must be enrolled in a doctorate, or in a non-degree course.
The documents proving this situation must be submitted, at the latest, until the contracting phase of the scholarship, and before that they may be replaced by a declaration of honor.
Preferred factors: Knowledge of English language.
Additional Information Monthly maintenance allowance amount: The amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1259,64, according to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT, I.P., in Portugal. The payment method is by bank transfer.
Selection process Selection criteria: The selection of the successful candidate will be carried out through the evaluation of the scientific and curricular achievements:
Curricular evaluation and demonstration of competences in Computational Biology (score from 0 to 20 weighting 25%);
Proficient in R and Python scripting (score from 0 to 20 weighting 25%);
Experience in the analysis of transcriptome data (RNAseq), protein-DNA interactions (ChIPseq), chromatin accessibility (ATACseq) and allelic expression (RNA-Amplicon-Seqs) (score from 0 to 20 weighting 25%);
Experience in integration of multi-omics data (score from 0 to 20 weighting 25%).
The 3 top applicants with more than 17 values will be short-listed and called for an interview.
In the absence of candidates with overall classification above 17 values, the current call will be closed without candidate selection.
Form of advertising/notification of results: The evaluation results proposed by the jury will be notified, up to 90 days after the deadline for the submission of applications, by email, of the results proposed by the jury, with access to the minutes and the final ranking list. After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision (prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure). The final decision will be taken after the expiry of the prior hearing period, again notified to all candidates by e-mail. Of this final decision the candidates can file a complaint within 15 working days (to the e-mail address used for the notification), or a hierarchical appeal, within 30 working days, addressed to NOVA.ID.FCT's Board through the address ******.
