Job DescriptionAs a member of the Ryan Software Division, this position is a critical contributor to an ambitious strategic initiative with the goal of re-envisioning a broad suite of enterprise-level applications. Aiming to create simple and compelling user experiences, the Senior Manager, Application Engineering will be required to draw on a depth of design and engineering experience building complex web applications and systems.Best equipped candidates will have an in-depth understanding of modern technologies, be familiar with services offered by major cloud providers (i.e., Azure, AWS, GCP), and a distinguished track record of mentoring and supporting engineering teams on technically fast-paced projects. This position includes leading or managing teams, however, has the opportunity to remain hands-on. This role is a formative one for the future of application development within Ryan, LLC and will be best filled by one hungry to have a huge impact.Duties and Responsibilities aligned with Ryan Key Results:PeopleMentor and develop team members to aid them in the areas of resolving technical problems, leading by example, prioritizing, and decision-making.Partner with leadership to influence and drive technical vision and product roadmap.ClientCollaborate with Engineering, Design, Product, and Sales teams to continually respond to changing market needs, support requests, and aid in problem resolution.Drive the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with many cross-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers.ValueParticipate in code reviews and facilitate team retrospectives by providing technical guidance to iteratively guide the team through tool, technology, and process improvements, aiming at maximizing development efficiency and maintainability of applications and systems.Design and implement cost-effective application and system architectures that allow for elastic scalability in response to changing workloads by drawing on a deep understanding of application, system, and cloud design patterns.Develop and maintain documentation for application and system architectures.Education and Experience:Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent related work experience.Preferably 10+ years of enterprise applications architecture and development experience in a development lead, architect, or managerial capacity.Additional Experience and Skills:Great understanding of Agile processes and development methodologies.Experience in recruiting, building, and leading engineering teams.Experience with effectively creating alignment with multiple teams and operating well in ambiguity.Solid understanding of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, continuous build processes, testing, and operations.Familiarity with languages such as PHP, Typescript/JavaScript, SQL, and frameworks such as Angular/React, Laravel, etc.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Certificates and Licenses:Valid driver's license required. #LI-Remote#J-18808-Ljbffr
