Xstore Tester Role overview The QA is responsible for participating in functional and process facets of Micros Retail software implementations by applying retail industry knowledge, specialised payment expertise and Micros Retail software functionality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the definition of project objectives, scope, processes, organization, timelines, and overall approachConsider and define implementation and integration alternativesAct as a contact for the system functionality advice and provide coaching to the client business process team usersDefine system configuration requirements, identify gaps and recommend system modifications and process changes to optimally satisfy business usersDocument functional requirements for modifications and support design process for the clientEscalate project issues that cannot be resolved within your sphere of influence/authority to the Project Manager as neededProvide support to multiple customer development and deployment projects by consulting on best practices for payment transaction, providing technical assistance, and custom solutions based on requirementsWork with internal development teams to write customer-based functional requirements and support development of new products and technologiesDesign hardware and software testing and evaluations for payment and tablet devicesProvide regular project updates to key stakeholdersUndertake QA activities as required to ensure the success of the projectMaintain a detailed knowledge of the functional capabilities and integration points of the Micros solution, as well as an in-depth understanding payments and associated processesAssist with driving test plan definition, creation and execution, as well as go-live assessments as neededEssential skills: High degree of initiative, accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detailAbility to maintain confidentiality when dealing with proprietary informationStrong ability to proactively identify and resolve issuesAbility to be flexible and adapt to change in a complex global organizationGood time management skillsEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related field or 3+ years of related experiencePrior Micros/Oracle or POS quality assurance experience3+ years quality assurance and/or POS systems integration experience preferred3+ years in the Retail industry or an associated Retail IT field preferredPL/SQL knowledgeXML knowledgeIssue reporting through tool (example: Jira)Writing test plansReviewing and approving function design documentsPrior experience review log filesPOS Hardware and environment setupNice to have: Java (J2EE) knowledgeWeb Services knowledgeAutomation testing
