Now we are looking for a Tax Specialist to join our global team at our headquarter in Lisbon.
We recognize the importance of supporting our employees with accurate and proactive personal tax guidance, so we are looking for an experienced specialist to join our finance team, focused on assisting employees with a range of personal tax matters, including advising on tax-related benefits, managing tax compliance for international assignments, and providing support with payroll-related tax issues.
This role is essential in helping our team members navigate the complexities of personal tax obligations, ensuring they maximize their benefits and minimize tax liabilities.
Manage all direct tax work including the review and filing of business and personal returns Consult the company and employees on NHR procedures in Portugal Prepare the guides and FAQs on salary related taxes in Portugal and on filing tax returns Control our payroll provider (ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions) Interact and coordinate with government agencies such as social insurance agencies, financial authorities, labor agency or others as required for payroll related matters Ensure compliance to national legislation, internal controls and guidelines Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field Minimum of 3-5 years of tax experience with a thorough understanding of tax standards and principles in Portugal Experience with NHR policies and processes (in-house or consulting) Proficiency in Excel Fluent Portuguese and English Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Flexible working hours and 22 days of paid annual leave Extended health insurance for the employees and their families, including dental care coverage 100% paid sick leaves Personal development: professional events, workshops, English classes, corporate library Daily meal allowance Annual team retreats Before applying to this vacancy please review our Candidate Privacy Notice here: https://legal.joom.com/recruitment/Joom_Unipessoal_LDA_Job_Applicant_Privacy_Notice.pdf.
