.Security Manager II - TMC/Children's (Nights) Location: TMC/Children's Hospital Address: 6411 Fannin, Houston, TX 77030 Job Summary Position responsible for managing the security programs at a Memorial Hermann Hospital campus and is accountable for the operations and development of security support services at assigned campus, including the management of security staff. Directs and/or supervises security programs for larger facilities with less than 750,000 square feet and with more than 2 security FTE's. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, Management or related field preferred, o r the equivalent in training or experience. Licenses/Certifications: Certified as a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (if not certified upon date of hire). Must obtain certification no more than six (6) months after becoming eligible for certification. Must be licensed as a Commissioned Security Officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau (if not licensed upon date of hire, must obtain license no more than six (6) months after hire). Possession of a valid driver's license upon hire (if from out of state, has the ability to obtain a Texas Driver's license within 90 days of employment). Based on business need, may be required to meet the Security Services requirements to carry a firearm. Must be certified in Heartsaver CPR or Heartcode BLS CPR by the American Heart Association (if not certified upon date of hire, must obtain certification no more than 90 days after hire). Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age. At least two (2) years management experience in security or law enforcement, preferably in a healthcare or corporate environment. Knowledge of Texas Penal Code, security reports and investigations, and JCAHO security standards. Must be able to understand the English language and communicate it effectively in both verbal and written form. Proficiency in the use of computers is required. Must be able to meet Physical Fitness Requirements as outlined in the System Security Physical Fitness Standard. Principal Accountabilities Remains visible and interfaces directly with administration, property managers, physicians, employees and customers in a manner which reflects Memorial Hermann's purpose and values. Ensures compliance with all Security codes, licensing, and reporting requirements required by JCAHO or State/local regulations. Keeps customers and managers informed and involved; constantly monitors andevaluates services on an ongoing basis. Participates in budget preparation, analyzes financial statements and takes necessary actions to control and reduce costs. Hires, coaches, and terminates staff; remains objective when dealing with issues; seeks input and provides consistent and timely feedback. Serves as rotating on-call supervisor for security
