The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft-based systems within an organization's IT infrastructure. This role ensures that services and systems run smoothly and securely, focusing on optimal performance and availability. Key tasks include server management, user access control, system security, and software updates, often involving automation and integration within cloud and on-premises environments.
Responsibilities
Windows Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022), including performance monitoring, updates, and patch management.
Active Directory (AD): Manage Active Directory, including user and group accounts, GPOs, and organizational units, ensuring effective access control and compliance.
Microsoft 365 Administration: Administer Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams, managing user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
System Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures, including multi-factor authentication, patch management, and compliance policies for data protection.
Automation: Leverage PowerShell scripting to automate repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce human error in system administration.
Virtualization: Use virtualization platforms like Hyper-V or VMware to manage virtualized environments, optimizing resource allocation and system performance.
Monitoring and Optimization: Use monitoring tools (e.g., Microsoft System Center, Azure Monitor) to track system health, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure high availability.
Backup and Recovery: Maintain and test backup and disaster recovery systems to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of an incident.
Documentation and Reporting: Document procedures, configurations, and incident reports, maintaining an organized and accessible knowledge base.
Support and Troubleshooting: Serve as second-level support for escalated technical issues related to Microsoft systems, collaborating with other IT staff to resolve incidents effectively.
Requirements
Strong expertise in Windows Server administration (2016, 2019, or later).
Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy management.
Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune).
Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and administrative tasks.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware).
Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
Desirable Certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ (preferred but not required).
