Job Summary Position responsible for direction, management, development and organization of the Medical Staff Services Department. This position manages and directs the Medical Staff Assistant. The position provides administrative support to the organized Medical Staff, officers of the Medical Staff and Administration of Memorial Hermann.
Medical Staff Office, in this context, is considered to be working in a Hospital or Healthcare Facility with physicians and medical staff to provide administrative support to the Medical Staff Department. Ideal applicant will need to have experience in credentialing, exceptional Microsoft Office skills, ability to take notes during meetings resulting in a final set of minutes, data entry skills, excellent communication skills, excellent organizational skills and must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Hours: Hours could vary between 6:00am-7:00pm. We are looking for someone that can be flexible with the schedule.
Location: Texas Medical Center
Work Environment: This position would mainly work in the office but may have some flexibility to work remotely.

Job Description Minimum Qualifications Education: Associates Degree in Medical Staff Services or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Three (3) years in a Medical Staff office with progressive responsibilities Excellent organizational and communication skills and effective meeting management skills Proficient in the use of multiple software programs including but not limited to: MS Office and desktop publishing Principal Accountabilities Directs and supervises the activities of the Medical Staff Assistant, including hiring, training, assigning work, counseling, timely distribution of monthly mailings to the medical staff, ER Call Schedules and other communications to the medical staff, as well as the coordination of CME offerings. Manages and maintains the documentation of all minutes to ensure compliance with the Bylaws and Rules of the Medical Staff and regulatory agencies. Maintains official medical staff documents, including Master Copy of Medical Staff Policies & Procedures, Bylaws and Rules of the Medical Staff meeting attendance records. Collaborates with physician leadership to ensure Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations meet standards of regulatory agencies, as well as community standards. Ensures all incoming applicants meet the requirements of the Medical Staff Bylaws, sections and services for which they are applying. Responsible for generating reports and reviewing information related to reappointments to the Medical Staff, and ensuring the appropriate Medical Staff Leadership is informed of all pertinent information. Develops and implements orientation programs for the Medical Staff Officers and new physicians to the staff; as well as ensures that new medical staff members are adequately oriented to the facility. Develops and maintains policy and procedure manuals for the Medical Staff Office. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
